​​Inspiring the next generation of storytellers

Our annual film event will include an expanding, year-round educational component.
A Year Round Educational Opportunity for students in Langeland and across Denmark.
Our first Langeland Film Event, scheduled from May 22 to 24, 2026 will have 3 days of the best in Island film screened and will feature Langeland Student engagement via a student digital film and media presentation series (Senior Elementary School students, Efterskole students on Langeland).

Through the school year, from every October, students will create new Langeland stories, both documentary and narrative, as guided by multi International and Academy. 

Award members of our Board Kim Magnusson and Camilla Hammerich and Education, AI and Innovation Leadership team led by Lars Gjøls-Andersen from Denmark and tech leadership training by the leaders of Google, Cisco and Microsoft leadership via Mark Phibbs, Internationally.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMME

Filmblazers creates an ongoing educational programme that inspires students on Langeland and across Denmark.

​Through storytelling and film production, students learn creativity, collaboration, and digital media skills.​

AWARD-WINNING FILMMAKERS

The programme is supported by award-winning filmmakers Kim Magnusson and Camilla Hammerich, together with innovation expert Lars Gjøls-Andersen.

​Workshops will also include global leadership insights from tech visionaries at Google, Cisco, and Microsoft.

STORYTELLING

Students will explore and share authentic Langeland stories - documentaries and short films rooted in their community.

​​Guided by international filmmakers and mentors, they’ll gain insight into global perspectives and storytelling techniques.

By combining film, creativity, and technology, the programme helps students develop confidence, digital literacy, and storytelling skills.

We recognize that our value to the community and to our visitor audiences is to share the best in International Island film, to showcase and share the best of Denmark and Langeland and to provide a long term educational, technical, cultural film, media development opportunity to a range of Langeland young people who currently do not have local access to this type of quality education platform. 

​From the cutting edge of filmmaking and media to leaders in AI technology, our education program will be a game changer for students in Langeland and across Denmark.

​Using the student films created October to April as background, our May Festival will also feature a range of International and Danish filmmakers.

​Mentors, leaders and audience interactive sessions, creative filmmaker and artist Q&A, panels, music events, filmmaker and student recognition spread across 3 or 4 Langeland venues welcoming over 1,600 festival attendees in our first year 2027.

Island Film Festival Education Series

​May ’26 to April ‘27
​Education Workshops, with Filmmaking, media and AI support for Elementary and Efterskole students in Langeland and shared digitally across Denmark. 

Developed to offer a broad cultural and technical education series and to curate and support the development of 8 to 16 short (under 22 minutes) Langeland Student Island films, by first time Langeland Island filmmakers.

​All films screened in mid May each year at Langeland Island International Film Festival.
