Our very first Langeland International Island Film Days will take place in May 2026 - three days of island cinema, creativity, and celebration.

We will be screening the best in Island short films and feature length films;
  • Friday evening May 22nd @ Bio Langeland – The Danish Perspective
  • Saturday morning May 23rd @ Bio Langeland – Danish & International Island Films
  • Saturday evening May 23rd @ Broløkke Herregård: Filmmaker appreciation dinner.
  • Sunday morning May 24th @ Langelands Efterskole : New directions. Young filmmakers take on island films and brunch @ Langeland Efterskole.

A rich Czech tourist and his translator come to an Inuit shaman – an Angakkoq. The meeting is
arranged at a local museum and its purpose is a legendary meeting of the Angakkoq's and the
Czech's ancestors.

Director: Bergur Bernburg
An Icelandic scholar living in Copenhagen is diagnosed with a mental disorder and chooses to
embrace his episodic madness rather than seek conventional treatment. Through his journey, the
film explores the boundaries between sanity and insight, following his search for deeper truths
within the chaos of the mind and the world around him.

Marie is considered the last of her family's lineage of grass weavers and her life mission is to
keep this traditional Inuit cultural heritage alive.

​International Short Films & Filmmaking conversation for young people. Cuban Canadian
Filmmaker Tamara Segura will lead the conversation and screen a series of short films
highlighting Island life.

Films to include:
  • “Letters to Jasmine” directed by Tamara Segura
  • “Bøhlandet”, first time film by Dennis Kirkegaard Bønnelykke, shot on Langeland.
  • “Wild Child” filmed on Langeland
  • “Bjørn på Langeland”directed by Joachim Morre. Filmed on Langeland
  • “Song for Cuba” directed by Tamara Segura NFB
  • “Becoming Labrador” (clips only) directed by Tamara Segura NFB
