Signe Madsen

Board member 

Signe Madsen, a resident of Langeland, has been an avid film lover and professionally involved with Bio Langeland in voluntary management since its inception.

Bio Langeland is owned by Langeland Cinema Association, which was founded in April 1999. In the following years, money was collected for the construction. EU Goal 2 funding paid half. The other half was provided by the then County of Funen, the Langeland municipalities, foundations, but not least by citizens and businesses on Langeland. Bio Langeland was inaugurated on October 11, 2002 and was debt-free shortly after.

​Bio Langeland is currently operated without operating subsidies from the public sector. The cinema is managed by a board of seven members. The board acts as operational management and is responsible for the daily operations, which are handled by 9 self-governing employee teams.
